Week End poster

So this is the pretty much completed version of my "Week End" poster. This one will be printed digitally and there will be another version with fewer colours that I hope to screen print.

Work in Progress

I'm working on a film poster for Jean-luc Godard's film Weekend. I thought I'd post some images of what I've got so far. I'm planning on screen printing this so hopefully the textures will look a lot nicer.

firstly, a screen shot from the film I really like.

This is the sort of thing I was working on first using screen shots from the film. I like the car crash image within the car shape but I just couldnt get it to work.

Moving on, this is a drawing I did of a massive pile up of cars. I started filling in the colour on photoshop but I like how its unfinished. The typeface is one designed recently to look like the one used in the film titles.

This is close to what my final outcome will look like. I need to work on ways to involve the type without it looking like an after thought.

Layout

So, I've previously been terrified of InDesign/computers/typography/layout, but we had a workshop with Paul Minnott and I was pleasantly surprised. We first had to copy a page from a magazine as closely as possible and then redesign the page ourselves.

Hidden

This is my final outcome from the "hidden" project. I was exploring hidden narrative. The idea of the piece is for it to look like there is a narrative but infact there isn't one at all. It was fun trying out a bit of embroidery too, if a little bit time consuming!
